Star Wars Battlefront 2 became a prime example for what will happen, if the players are enraged. After tons of negative comments, EA lowered costs connected to grinding and microtransactions.

It seems like everything is about Star Wars Battlefront 2 in the last few days. The newest EA and DICE's game attracts all the attention due to scandalous implementation of microtransactions. It was calculated by the first players that unlocking one character in online modes takes around 40 hours of grind! Of course it's because the micropayments and lootboxes, which make players furious. Now this cost was lowered.

After this change Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker cost 15,000 credits each, for Iden Versio we have to pay only 5,000, and Leia and Chewbacca are 10,000 each. DICE and EA admitted those high prices were to make the player satisfied with every unlocked character and they supposedly based those numbers on data from the beta period. As you know now - players hated them for feeling ripped-off.

DICE surely will listen to the community now and it'll keep on delivering new updates. The only big change is in terms of prices, but nothing else was fixed - and there are still many problems. Nevertheless, the short-term effect was reached. Now we should watch closely what will happen with future additional content and how it will impact the game's economy in months to come.

You should keep that in mind before we declare ourselves winners here. EA could planned all of this and now will continue to test our patience.
